Scrum of Scrums (SoS) is a scaling technique for coordinating work among multiple teams practicing Scrum in an Agile software development environment.

📜

Context

The Scrum of Scrums was formalized by Jeff Sutherland in 2001 as a technique to address the need for coordination and alignment when multiple teams are working on a single product or a family of products within the Scrum framework.

👥

Representatives

Each team designates a representative/ambassador to participate in a sort of Daily Scrum only for sub-team representatives called Scrum of Scrums.

Time Limit

The meeting should not exceed 30 minutes, and the focus is on coordination and addressing any dependencies or impediments between teams.

🔗

Scalability

The SoS can be further scaled by having a Scrum of Scrums of Scrums, allowing coordination across multiple levels within the organization.
